HELLO,
I have always loved film. It is more than a job to me; it is more than a hobby. To me, film is the art of capturing life's most precious moments in a way that allows you to feel the raw emotion. Life is too good to only live once. With film, you are able to live your favorite moments over and over again.
My journey started when I was 14 years old. I started experimenting with film by coming up with silly movie plots and convincing my two sisters to act for me. Eventually, word got out that I filmed, and I landed my very first wedding shoot; Skipping Stone Studios was born. It has been a few years, I've had a wedding of my own, and I am still passionate about film. I have had the wonderful opportunity of filming weddings, engagements, birthday parties, family reunions, missionary homecomings, club activities, music and dance vidoes, and so much more.
Another one of my passions is music. I have loved music for as long as I can remember. One of my very favorite parts of film is finding music that perfectly captures the emotions of the video. You can't just put any song to any video. They have to work together; they have to enhance one another. It's a beautiful challenge that never grows old.
Over the years I have taken lessons for piano, violin, and vocal. I also taught myself how to play the guitar, harmonica, and alto saxophone. Basically I just love all things music. If you were to ask me what my favorite genre of music is, I would probably say "country". However, I like just about everything.
In my spare time I also love to compose music. To the right you'll find one of the pieces that I wrote in 2015. It has become one of my favorite works. Feel free to take a listen.
Last, but definitely not least, I got married to my beautiful wife in 2013 and have never been happier. We enjoy laughing together, trying new restaurants, hiking in the canyons, watching movies, and going home to Oregon to visit our families. We like to play card and board games with friends, but we can't play with just the two of us because we are a little too competitive. We also love to make homemade pizza; a family tradition from my side of the family.
Alright, that's enough about me. Now I want to get to know you! Contact me with any questions or comments. I honestly can't wait to hear from you. If you don't see exactly what you're looking for on my site, I can probably still help you. There are so many possibilities when it comes to film and photography that I can't list everything. No matter the occasion, I can't wait to help you preserve every precious moment in unforgettable splendor!
